- Abstract: This study offers an analysis of Spanish farewell expression a Dios/adiós in the Golden Age period, using Calderón de la Barca's first six partes of Comedias (written between 1623 and 1680) as a representative corpus. Three main issues were considered, namely the context, the pragmatic function, and the presence of this marker in adjacency pairs. The data analysis of the corpus enables the identification of typical features of grammaticalization in the development of adiós, which would originate in longer farewell formulae like Quédate a Dios. - Abstract: Este artículo examina la fórmula de despedida a Dios/adiós en el teatro del Siglo de Oro, tomando como corpus representativo de esta época las seis primeras partes de Comedias de Calderón de la Barca, las cuales contienen obras compuestas entre 1623 y 1680. Para ello, se ha prestado atención al contexto, a la función pragmática y a la presencia de este marcador en pares adyacentes en despedidas. El análisis de datos del corpus utilizado ha permitido identificar rasgos típicos de gramaticalización en la evolución de adiós, cuyo origen podría estar en otras fórmulas de despedida del tipo Quédate a Dios.
