CRIACÃO E CONSOLIDAÇÃO DA REVISTA BRASILEIRA DE PSIQUIÁTRIA (RBP).

CREATION AND CONSOLIDATION OF REVISTA BRASILEIRA DE PSIQUIATRIA (RBP).

Revista Brasileira de Psiquiatria (RBP) was created in the same year as Associação Brasileira de Psiquiatria (ABP), i.e., 50 years ago. However, the journal was discontinued for some time, resulting in a change of its title to Revista da ABP and later to Revista ABPAPAL, remaining so for 20 years. Notwithstanding, the journal has always been an official publication of ABP. As the history of the journal is intertwined with the history of the Association, several ABP presidents have been mentioned - all of whom have brought forward substantial changes and improvements to the journal -, as well as many editors who have devoted their efforts to consolidating RBP, presently a journal with substantial national and international recognition. A Revista Brasileira de Psiquiatria (RBP) foi criada no mesmo ano que a Associação Brasileira de Psiquiatria (ABP), há 50 anos. Entretanto, a revista sofreu solução de continuidade, provocando mudança de seu nome para Revista da ABP e, posteriormente, para Revista ABP-APAL, assim persistindo durante 20 anos, mas sempre sendo órgão oficial da ABP. Como a história da revista se confunde com a da ABP, vários presidentes da associação, responsáveis por alterações substanciais na revista, são mencionados, assim como os vários editores que contribuíram com seus trabalhos na consolidação da RBP, hoje com expressivo reconhecimento nacional e internacional.
