      This article will analyze the work of Benito Pérez Galdós adapted to national and foreign cinema from the origins of the cinema to the present day. Likewise, it also reflects on the influence of the man of letters in the personal work of Luis Buñuel, especially in those films based on his works. This tour also intends to link Galdós's incidence in cinematography with the evolution of Spanish history. Thus, in the following pages, reference is made to the presence and absence of his adapted works in the different stages of the history of cinema and their relationship with different political circumstances.       En este artículo se analizará la obra de Benito Pérez Galdós adaptada al cine nacional y extranjero hasta nuestros días. Así mismo, también se reflexiona sobre la influencia del literato en la personal obra de Luis Buñuel, especialmente en aquellas películas basadas en sus obras. Este recorrido pretende vincular también la incidencia de Galdós en la cinematografía con el propio devenir de la historia española. De este modo, en las siguientes páginas se hace referencia a la presencia y ausencia de sus obras adaptadas en las diferentes etapas de la historia del cine y su relación con las diferentes circunstancias políticas.
