      The Education of the Christian Prince was written in 1516 by Erasmus of Rotterdam and dedicated to a young prince, Charles V. This paper analyzes the political ideas contained in that work, their impact in the context of the European Renaissance, their transcendence and the effect they have in our times. El presente trabajo analiza las ideas políticas contenidas en dicha obra, el impacto de las mismas en el contexto del Renacimiento europeo, su trascendencia y la vigencia que tienen en nuestros tiempos.
