      The article discusses the concept of masculinity in a world where it is assumed that if the word "woman" does not appear in a text, it is probably about men. The field of men's studies is discussed. Men's studies aims to study masculinity and the experiences of men in social, historical and cultural contexts. A theoretical panorama of the tendencies and conceptions in the field of men's studies is presented, as well as an analysis of some of the problems that the study of masculinity presents. A larger number of studies in the field is proposed, with an aim to understand masculinity as a part of gender relations.
