Zimbabwe elections the game is on but ... following last month's High Court ruling, elections could be held in March next year and as new African's Tichaona Zindoga writes from Harare, although three parties in the "inclusive" Government say they are ready, a referendum on a new constitution which will outline the framework and reforms for the elections could be the litmus test of things to come.

Is 2013 Tsvangirai's last chance? Tichaona Zindoga ponders what the year 2013 holds for Zimbabwe as he looks back at the year 2012. Some political leaders say 2012 was good for the country, others think not.

Zimbabwe human rights under the microscope: in May, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, visited Zimbabwe to see things for herself. She pronounced herself "happy" with land reform, but was 'concerned' with political polarisation in the country. And then she said the unsayable: "sanctions have had a harmful impact on Zimbabweans." Tichaona Zindoga reports from Harare.

Uneasy neighbours? For the past 12 years, South Africa (especially under former President Thabo Mbeki) has been a strong supporter of Zimbabwe, particularly after Zimbabwe's controversial land reform programme started in 2000. Now, as Tichaona Zindoga reports from Harare, the relationship appears to be going pear-shaped.

Zimbabwe to vote or not to vote: after nearly three years of coalition government, Zimbabwe appears to be back to 2007 - when Zanu-PF wanted elections "next year" (ie, 2008), and the opposition MDC did not. The country is now back full cycle, reports Tichaona Zindoga from Harare - Zanu-PF wants elections in 2012, but the two MDC factions say no!

Zimbabwe taking from Peter to pay Paul? Last February Zimbabwe launched an indigenisation and economic empowerment programme, which seeks to give a 51% stake in large foreign companies to "indigenous" Zimbabweans. But, as Tichaona Zindoga reports from Harare, nearly a year on the programme has not quite flown because of resistance from foreign companies and (not surprisingly) Tsvangirai's MDC-T party.
