Edgar Allan Poe/Sullivan's Island Library - What is Inktober? It's an art challenge started by Jake Parker in 2009. Every year, artists all over the world take on the challenge of making an ink drawing every day for the entire month of October. That's 31 drawings in 31 days! The goal is to improve your drawing skills and develop positive drawing habits. The official list of drawing prompts will be released in early September, though following the prompts is optional. During past challenges, people have created drawings according to a specific theme, 31 pages of an original story, 31 individual sections of one big image, 31 pieces for a portfolio, and more! The possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Get crafty at the library's drawing station, or bring in an Inktober creation you've already drawn to display at Poe until the end of the month. Hashtag your work with #inktober or #inktober2019 so people can follow along.
