"Senses of the Holy City" by Emil Hristov
Saul Alexander Gallery at Main Library - Emil Hristov studied at the National Academy of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria and has been living and working in Charleston for several years. Using both classical and modern influences for inspiration, his work reflects a blending of different cultures and perspectives. His latest pieces, for the gallery showing "Scenes of the Holy City," are inspired by the Lowcountry, the beautiful beaches, and the unique lifestyle of Charleston.
"Living in Charleston, it is impossible not to be influenced by its distinctive culture.I'm trying to show it in a different perspective that is more striking and modern," he said.
