Full-time position for an energetic, team-oriented individual with strong customer service skills. Under general supervision, candidate will perform original cataloging, complex copy cataloging, and authority control work using CCPL cataloging standards. Will also be assigned other projects to meet the mission of the department. May assist library generalists with routine copy cataloging and review their work. May work with other staff to improve the patron experience with discovery layers in addition to the classic catalog.

Basic clerical and general office work. Must be comfortable working with staff and patrons with all levels of cataloging knowledge. Candidate should be a good listener and communicator, present an upbeat, cheerful attitude, enjoy working cooperatively as a team member, and place top priority on customer service. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to meet the changing needs of the department. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:  ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree. Prefer public library experience. Knowledge of current cataloging standards. Must possess excellent customer service skills, ability to get along well with others and to communicate effectively with customers, both internal and external. Must use tact, courtesy and good judgment when communicating with library staff. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to learn and use new methods, policies and technical advances. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and sitting. Must be able to lift library materials including books and maneuver loaded book carts weighing approximately 50 to 100 pounds. Prior library experience helpful but not necessary. Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus. 

Hiring Salary Range:  $38,833.60 – $43,763.20 annually depending on qualifications.
