Full time position. Assists with the daily operation of a regional branch library, assumes responsibility for the operation of the branch in the absence of the branch manager, and manages the daily operation of the reference department. Supervises staff, including scheduling, goal-setting, performance evaluation, and payroll. Compiles statistics and writes reports. Responsible for the provision of reference services and programs for adults and teens. Models outstanding customer service and contributes to a positive team spirit. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain branch operations. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; broad knowledge of library methods and procedures; a high aptitude for customer service; initiative; tact; and the ability to plan and coordinate the work of others. Bilingual—English/Spanish a plus. Other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend work included. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, stooping, and kneeling. May also be required to push book carts weighing approximately fifty (50) to one hundred (100) pounds.

REQUIREMENTS: ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree and three (3) years post MLS/MLIS experience. Eligible for or hold South Carolina State Library certification. A valid South Carolina driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Hiring Salary Range: $46,945.60 - $52,873.60 annually depending on qualifications.
