Full time entry-level position for an energetic, team-oriented librarian. Performs a variety of library functions under professional supervision of the Adult Services Manager and Technology Team. Responsible for training staff and the general public in the use of technology, including software, online tools, and mobile devices during classes, programs, and public computer sessions. Must demonstrate knowledge, appreciation, and understanding of adult materials, both print and electronic. Must be comfortable proactively seeking out customers to offer assistance in all areas of the library and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Duties include providing excellent customer service, reference services, and technology assistance in person, by phone, or by email. Also responsible for developing training materials, creating new and maintaining existing programming, and participating in outreach to the community. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree. Library experience preferred but not required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to learn and use new methods, policies, and technical advances. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain branch operations. Must use tact, courtesy, and good judgement when communicating with co-workers and the public. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Must have stamina for periods of walking, standing, reaching, and bending. Must be able to lift library materials including books, AV equipment, and program materials and maneuver loaded book carts weighing approximately 50 to 100 pounds. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus.

Eligible for or hold South Carolina State Library certification.

Hiring Salary Range: $38,833.60 - $43,763.20 annually depending on qualifications.
