Part-time position – thirty (30) hours per week for an energetic, team-orientated individual. Provide general circulation services, including updating patron records, placing holds, locating materials and issuing library cards. Assist patrons with use of print reference resources, readers advisory, identifying and locating library materials using the library system catalog, searching the Internet and using online databases. Perform routine desk duties under professional supervision, carry out procedures set by supervisory staff and help patrons locate and check out materials. Basic clerical and general office work. Must be comfortable proactively seeking out patrons to offer assistance in all areas of the library (desk, roving, e-mail, phone or additional methods of communication). Candidates should be good listeners and communicators, present an up‐beat, cheerful attitude, enjoy working cooperatively as a team member and place top priority on customer service. Assist with Community Hub Services, such as, the rental assistant program, vaccine clinics, voting process, as well as, other programs and services that are provided by CCPL. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities and scheduling requirements as needed to meet the coverage needs of the branch. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year library experience; OR High School graduate & two (2) years library experience; supervisory and public library experience preferred. Must possess excellent customer service skills, the ability to get along well with others and to communicate effectively with the public and with library staff and a strong work ethic. Must use tact, courtesy and good judgement when communicating with co-workers and the public. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite with the ability to learn and use new methods, policies and technical advances. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and sitting. Ability to shelve library materials as needed. Must be able to lift library materials including books, AV equipment, program materials and maneuver loaded book carts weighing approximately fifty (50) to one hundred (100) pounds. Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus.

Hiring Salary Range:  $15.32 - $17.26 hourly commensurate with education and experience – thirty (30) hours per week.
