The library page duties include, but are not limited to, shelving library materials, basic maintenance of the collections and premises, occasionally performing minor clerical tasks and assisting patrons. Basic clerical and general office work. Must be comfortable proactively seeking out customers to offer assistance in all areas of the library (desk, roving, e-mail, phone, or additional methods of communication). Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities and scheduling requirements as needed to meet the coverage needs of the branch. Candidates should be good listeners and communicators, present an up‐beat, cheerful attitude, enjoy working cooperatively as a team member, and place top priority on customer service. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate or GED equivalent with excellent customer service skills, ability to get along well with others and to communicate effectively with the public and with library staff, a strong work ethic. Must use tact, courtesy and good judgement when communicating with co-workers and the public. Ability to work with children of varied backgrounds and ages. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to learn and use new methods, policies and technical advances. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and sitting. Ability to shelve library materials. Must be able to lift library materials including books, AV equipment, program materials and maneuver loaded book carts weighing approximately 50 to 100 pounds. Prior library experience helpful but not necessary. Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus.

Salary: $8.00 per hour and the ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
