CHARLESTON, S.C. - Looking for a job has never been easier. Android and Apple smart devices, like tablets and phones, allow job seekers to search and explore jobs no matter where they are. And better yet, all the apps mentioned below are free to download!

CareerBuilder – This app allows users to search for jobs in many ways. By selecting filters to “Work from Home,” Jobs Near You,” or desired payrate, you can personalize your search. When the app opens, enter in a job title, and/or a location.CareerBuilder also gives access to create and upload a resume. Your resume can also be auto populated, or automatically filled in to apply for jobs, avoiding typing information on many different job application forms. You will also receive notifications when someone views your resume. CareerBuilder is free, and is available on Android and Apple devices.

Indeed – Indeed is one of the most popular job seeking apps. At the top of the app screen, there are COVID-19 resources which shows which companies are immediately hiring. Delivery driver jobs, work from home jobs, truck driving, and essential businesses. Additionally, Indeed allows you to create a resume, and you can apply to jobs using your resume.

Snagajob – Like Indeed, Snagajob has a Covid-19 Hiring section, which shows companies that are hiring now. There are numerous jobs in high demand such as cashiers, delivery drivers, healthcare, customer service, cleaners and warehouse associates. The app shows top companies that are hiring as well.

Monster – Unlike the apps listed above, the Monster app requires a login in order to gain access.  You will have to fill in some basic information or will not be able to continue to the app. You can upload a resume. Monster is set up like a dating app; swiping left means you are not interested in the job. Swiping right means you are interested in the job, and want to apply for it. Swiping down saves the job to a list for you to view later. You will receive notifications from Monster that finds new recommendations and reminders about saved jobs.

Doordash – Doordash is a great opportunity to be your own boss and set your own schedule. You will need to go through a background check. Once accepted you will receive a prepaid credit card and a thermal bag. You schedule yourself for hours, and you can decline offers you are given. Declining offers will not count against you. However, accepting a delivery and not completing it will. You can also qualify for peak pay which offers up to $7 per delivery when there is a shortage of drivers. Drivers get paid weekly, however you can choose get paid daily for a fee. It is also recommended to have commercial insurance and speak to a tax profession to make sure you are taking advantage of all possible deductions
