CHARLESTON, S.C. - September 15 is National Online Learning Day, an annual celebration of the ever-increasing popularity and necessity of online education for all ages. Sometimes referred to as e-learning, online learning provides students with the convenience of acquiring new skills without the travel and time restrictions that accompany traditional in-class learning.

CCPL offers a wealth of Online Learning options for free, and provides free access to cardholders to dozens of research databases. If you are new to the library’s online learning platforms, the following are a great place to start your learning journey.

For children: 

ABC Mouse provides interactive books, educational games, puzzles, and other learning activities for young learners ages 2-8+.  ABC Mouse is available for free at all CCPL locations, including on personal computers using CCPL's Wi-Fi.

For Teens

Tutor.com K-12 Student Center includes Live Homework Help, WriteTutor Center, Test Prep Center, and a SkillsCenter Resource Library. Tutors are available with no appointment needed!

For Adults

Ancestry Library Edition allows users to search over 1.2 billion records in 7,500 databases including U.S Census records (1790-1930) and UK Census records (1841-1901), plus sources for U.S military, land, court, immigration, probate, vital records and more. Comprenhensive source for biographical information on hundreds of thousands of people from around the world and throughout history.
