Please follow the age recommendations for children’s events and only sign up children whose ages fall within the range specified in the event description. Library performers and presenters prepare for specific age groups so that children won’t get bored or confused by material that is not age-appropriate.
Storytime: What to Expect

Just for babies and their caregivers! Bring your baby for some cozy, active time on your lap. Baby storytime is designed for meaningful one-on-one interaction between baby and caregiver. We’ll have songs, rhymes, a book or two, and plenty of movement for both of you that are developmentally appropriate for children. This storytime is geared toward ages 0-24 months.
Get a jump start on reading at this early literacy storytime geared just for toddlers. The librarian leads the group in a variety of action-oriented books, fingerplays, songs, and rhymes. These activities provide a fun environment for toddlers to exercise important motor skills and practice using their vocabulary. Children are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities, and their caregivers to participate in the program along with the children. Recommended for children age 24 to 36 months and their caregivers.
Focus on school-readiness and discover books, songs, rhymes and movement activities while building language and literacy skills. Everyone will read, sing, write, talk and play at this energetic storytime. Children are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities, and their grownups to participate in the program along with the children. Recommended for children ages 3-5 years and their caregivers.
Family storytime is packed full of opportunities for kids to practice their early literacy skills. The librarian leads the group in a variety of interactive books, songs, and rhymes designed to strengthen your child’s reading readiness. Caregivers will learn how about developmentally-appropriate activities to use at home and on the go. Designed for anyone from birth to age 5 and their caregivers, and older siblings are welcome!
