Full-time position for an energetic, team-orientated individual with route delivery experience. Responsibilities include providing countywide distribution of library materials, supplies, equipment and furniture by driving and unloading a delivery vehicle. Ensures library vehicles are serviced and maintained. Provides shipping and receiving duties to include checking in box shipments, Friends of the Library support, and mail processing.
Candidates should be good listeners and communicators, present an up‐beat, cheerful attitude, enjoy working cooperatively as a team member and the ability to carry out assignments independently. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities and scheduling requirements as needed to meet the coverage needs of the department. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate or GED equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years related delivery driving experience preferred. Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license and safe driving record. A copy of driving record is available from SC Highway Department and IS REQUIRED with application submission. Must possess excellent customer service skills, the ability to get along well with others and to communicate effectively with the library staff and a strong work ethic. Must use tact, courtesy and good judgement when communicating with co-workers. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting and climbing in and out of trucks. Must be able to lift and carry library materials including books, AV equipment, program materials and maneuver loaded book carts weighing approximately fifty (50) to one hundred (100) pounds.
Hiring Salary Range: $24,710.40 - $27,830.40 annually depending on qualifications.
