    • Abstract:
The author offers reflections on the lives and work of the Bloomsbury Group, including the author Virginia Woolf and the art critic Clive Bell, and on its enduring influence. He discusses the irony that various exhibitions, theatrical performances, and television programs about the group are popular with mainstream audiences while the Bloomsbury members themselves were generally negative about the sensibilities of the masses. Sports in England and Woolf's attitude toward sports are discussed.
