    • Abstract:
The article focuses on the war between France and Great Britain for the supremacy of North America. The first task for British and colonial forces was to move the French out of Fort Duquesne, Pennsylvania. This was their new fort at the Forks of the Ohio. In 1755, the British government sent General Edward Braddock to lead the attack. George Washington, who was leading the attack until then, tried to warn Braddock that the French and Native American allies were masters of frontier warfare. After three hours of heavy losses, the British finally retreated.
