    • Abstract:
Since the first half of the XVI century (or maybe earlier, as it might be assumed from the style of "Rome's fire"), cultured romances are composed in Spain on the basis of historical texts, specially on medieval chronicles about ancient Greece and Rome and the Bible. Along with the heroic-historical forms. there appear romances of mythological themes and characters. From the didactic point of view, they also constitute an excellent means of articulation among the Classical and Medieval Literatures courses. This article basically synthesizes the search for romances whose stories belong to the Greek mythology and then focuses on an unforgettable couple of lovers. hero and Leander. to compare first, the epyllion inherited from Musacus (5th/6th cent. AD with the three medieval texts we have found, and finally these three latter poems one with each other. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
