The article reports that media reports of missing library materials yielded results. In December 2005 it was discovered that two bound volumes of "Collyer's Eye," a rare baseball magazine from the first half of the 20th century, had gone missing from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. An announcement was picked up by the media and later that night the missing volumes were found in the library's reference room. Interest in the magazine grew after the White Sox won the 2005 World Series.
