      The article focuses on the novel titled "The Woodlanders," written by Thomas Hardy, which depicts the traditions and the working lives of the artisans of the forests of Dorset, England. The novel depicted the said place since Hardy has a great fondness for it. The novel also includes the natural features of the place such as the hill known as High Stoy, the wagon-house of timber-merchant George Melbury, and the cottage of Mary South.
