    • Abstract:
The author reflects on terms used in literary criticism that have become major schools of thought, such as marxist, radical feminist, and Foucauldian. He argues that literary critics could better understand human nature if they understood the human mind. He suggests that by applying Darwinian thinking to fictional writings, it could invigorate the study of literature. Also discussed is a brief overview of how the author became a literary Darwinist.
