    • Abstract:
Chapter III of the book of "A Thin Ghost and Others" is presented. It highlights the fifteenth century plain altar-tomb inside the Cathedral of Southminster. It recalls the frightening experience of Mr. Worby, the principal verger in hearing a night cry and seeing outside the window a black shadow with red eyes. It also mentions the incident involving Mr. Worby's father who saw a thing come out of the monument describing it as a man covered with hair and with two great eyes.
