      The article reports that the Duke University Libraries were awarded a significant grant by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The money is to be spent to design an open source library, an information resource that will not be reliant on printed materials. The project is meant to address deficiencies perceived in existing commercial integrated library systems.
