      In this paper I will give a detailed account of Japanese works translated into Turkish between 1959 -2005 from intermediary languages, listing the titles, authors, translators and publishers statistically. Then I will examine the data within the framework of Itamar Even-Zohar's Polysystem Theory. I will also present my personal experience with the Turkish publishers and their attitude toward Japanese Literature, by recounting the difficulties 1 faced for 10 years (2000-2009) when I tried to publish my translations from Japanese Literature into Turkish directly from the source texts.
