    • Abstract:
A literary criticism is presented of the ancient Greek novel "Ephesiaka," or "An Ephesian Tale," by Xenophon of Ephesus, in which the author examines geographical names. The author looks at the textual transmission of the novel and the variations of geographical terms, and the Greek islands of Cyprus and Carpathos in particular. Topics include textual scholar Stephanus of Byzantium, the journey of fictional character Habrocomes in the novel, and ancient Greek author Chariton.
