Humans and Artificial Intelligence in Science Fiction. Film Ethical Considerations. (English)

Films tell stories about morality and immorality and participate in social discourse related to current issues. Science fiction films in particular present motifs that currently concern humanity and project them into an imaginary future. Although films cannot look prophetically into the future, they offer discussion material to draw attention to future problems. One of the frequently recurring themes of science fiction is artificial intelligence, expressed in film as both body-bound AI (humanoid robots) and disembodied AI (powerful computer systems). Even if science fiction films cannot provide a prognosis about the future of human development, the audio-visual stories discuss criticism of technology and fears about the future and argue for a responsible approach to it. Filme erzählen Geschichten über Moral und Unmoral und beteiligen sich am gesellschaftlichen Diskurs über aktuelle Themen. Besonders der Science-Fiction-Film präsentiert Motive, die gegenwärtig die Menschheit bewegen und projiziert sie in eine imaginäre Zukunft. Obwohl Filme nicht prophetisch in die Zukunft blicken können, bieten sie Diskussionsstoff, um auf zukünftige Probleme aufmerksam zu machen.
