      This article presents a biography of Iranian born academic and writer, Azar Nafisi. Nafisi was born in Tehran in 1955. Most well known for her novel, "Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books," Nafisi moved to England at the age of thirteen to attend school. The author then moved to the United States and attended the University of Oklahoma where she received her PhD in English and American literature. Shortly after the Islamic revolution, Nafisi returned to Iran where she stayed until 1997. The author now resides in the United States where she continues to teach and write. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
