      The author reflects on the statement of campaign group Broken Rites over the apology of Pope Benedict XVI on clergy sexual abuse in Australia. He insists that the Pope was aware of the cases involving clergy sexual abuse because he presided in reviewing those cases. He argues that the reason why apologies are always not enough is because lawyers and the ideologues are using the media to win bigger settlements. He also comments on society's double standards regarding child abuse.
