The Small Business Owners Guide to the CARES Act, passed by Congress, is intended to assist business owners with their needs. There will be many new resources available for small businesses, as well as certain nonprofits and other employers.

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development provides assistance for avoiding foreclosure, buying a home, home improvements, fair lending, housing discrimination and disable persons. HUD has launched a special website page dedicated to their response during COVID-19.

Paycheck Protection Program

The Paycheck Protection Program is a Small Business Administration loan that helps businesses keep their workforce employed during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. 

The Economic Injury Disaster Loan

The Economic Injury Disaster Loan offers small business owners with fewer than 500 employees up to $10,000 due to temporary loss of revenue, and does not have to be repaid. This loan is available to independent contractors, the self-employed and nonprofits.

Small Business Administration Express Bridge Loans

Express Bridge Loans are available to businesses with an existing relationship to a Small Business Administration Express Lender. Businesses can request up to $25,000, but the loans must be repaid.

The Small Business Administration Lender Match connects small business owners and entrepreneurs with U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) lenders. The online tool matches you with potential lenders by your industry type, age of business, location and financial need.

The Families First Coronavirus Relief Act (FFCRA) requires certain employers to pay sick or family leave wages to employees who are unable to work or telework due to certain circumstances related to COVID-19.
