    • Abstract:
There are various myths about people with physical challenges. People think that people with physical challenges are mentally challenged too. But the fact is, while some may be, many people with physical challenges are not mentally, psychologically, or emotionally challenged. Families' acceptance, love, and support modeled healthy responses to a loved one with physical challenges. Some families respond in unhealthy and damaging ways. Counseling and support groups can help families overcome these less-than-ideal reactions. Physical challenges can affect the entire body or just certain parts. Medical specialists refer to areas of involvement in different ways. With the exception of jobs requiring physical labor, people with physical challenges can do just about anything.
