O PARTO DE CHRISTINE: O EXERCÍCIO DO DIÁLOGO RETÓRICO COMO CONSTRUÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO NO LIVRO A CIDADE DAS DAMAS (1405), DE CHRISTINE DE PIZAN.

The Christine's Parturition: the exercise of rhetoric dialogue as construction of knowledge in the book The City of Ladies (1405), by Christine de Pizan.

Every year, publications on The Book of the City of Ladies (1405), the most celebrated work by Christine de Pizan, multiply. One of the themes addressed in the work is Education; also present in other writings of the author, such as Le Livre des trois vertus, Enseignements et proverbes moraux. In The Book of the City of Ladies, the teaching-learning process deserves special attention, as it presents itself not only as thematic, but still as a structuring element of the narrative. The plot is developed through dialogues between the narrator/protagonist Christine and the allegorical characters Lady Reason, Lady Righteousness and Lady Justice. We intend, in this article, to approach the role of dialogue in the work The Book of the City of Ladies, understanding it as a pedagogical tool in the process of knowledge/truth management. Our analysis will consist of relating the dialogue established between the three Masters/Virtues and the apprentice/Christine to the maieutic art, proposed by Socrates and his method of assisting in the labor of knowledge, presented in Plato's Dialogues. In the path of the Socratic metaphor, we will seek to identify in the work of Pizan the two stages that assist in the conduct of Christine's delivery, employed by the ladies/midwives: inducing doubt about a certain knowledge; and the incentive to think from one's own knowledge and experience. Multiplicam-se a cada ano as publicações sobre o Livro da Cidade das Damas (1405), a obra mais célebre de Christine de Pizan. Um dos temas abordados na obra é o da Educação; também presente em outros escritos da autora, como Le Livre des trois vertus, Enseignements et proverbes moraux. Em A Cidade das Damas, o processo ensino aprendizagem merece uma especial atenção, na medida em que se apresenta não apenas enquanto temática, mas ainda como elemento estruturante da narrativa. O enredo se desenvolve através de diálogos entre a narradora/protagonista Christine e as personagens alegóricas Dama Razão, Dama Retidão e Dama Justiça. Pretendemos, neste artigo, abordar o papel do diálogo na obra A Cidade das Damas, compreendendo-o como instrumento pedagógico no processo de gestação do conhecimento/verdade. A nossa análise consistirá em relacionar o diálogo estabelecido entre as três Mestras/Virtudes e a aprendiz/ Christine à arte maiêutica, proposta por Sócrates e seu método de auxiliar no trabalho de parto do conhecimento, apresentado nos Diálogos de Platão. Na senda da metáfora socrática, buscaremos identificar na obra de Pizan as duas etapas que auxiliam na condução do parto de Christine, empregadas pelas Damas/parteiras: a indução à dúvida acerca de um determinado conhecimento; e o estímulo a pensar a partir do seu próprio conhecimento e experiência.
