“Cruzeiros do Sul”: reflection on coloniality through the literature of Urda Klueger.

Based on the literary reference “Cruzeiros do Sul”, by Urda Alice Klueger, this article discusses the discourse that permeated the 20th century regarding the colonization process in southern Brazil. This way, we analyze the representation of the characters taking part in these events, particularly indigenous people, to understand how certain concepts and ideals can perpetuate indigenous erasure as well as the alleviation of the violence of European invaders towards indigenous populations. Tendo como base a referência literária “Cruzeiros do Sul”, de Urda Alice Klueger, o presente trabalho pretende discorrer acerca do discurso que pairou o século XX, no que diz respeito ao processo colonizatório do Sul do Brasil. Com isso busca-se analisar a representação das personagens que fazem parte dos eventos, tomando como foco principal os indígenas, e assim compreender a repercussão de conceitos e ideais que perpetuam o apagamento indígena e a amenização da violência que permeava os contatos entre populações originárias e os invasores europeus.
