    • Abstract:
To confirm these expectations, the authors use regression analysis and find two types of varieties of politicisation of EU trade policy which broadly align with their expectations and the different priorities (economic versus managed globalisation) in the current EU trade policy approach. The trade policy of the European Union (EU) is confronted with a series of challenges and expectations. The authors argue that the literature on the politicisation of EU trade policy mainly focuses on the EU level but not so much on the diversification of politicisation I within i the EU Member States. The effectiveness of a coherent trade policy of the EU depends on its responsiveness to the various perceptions, concerns and interests across EU Member States. [Extracted from the article]
