- Abstract: This study aimed to examine the awareness of mothers who gave birth during the COVID-19 pandemic about childhood vaccines. The data of this descriptive study were collected from mothers with healthy babies who were hospitalized in the postpartum service between May-September 2021. Data collection was collected 206 mothers. A questionnaire form was used to collect data. 48.5% of the mothers were between the ages of 20-29, 29.1% were high school graduates, and 36.4% stated that they did not receive information about prenatal vaccinations. The study concluded that there was a significant difference between the effect of giving birth during the COVID-19 pandemic and the age, number of children, and the necessity of vaccination in childhood (p=0.045; p=0.007; p=0.049, respectively). Half of the mothers in the research group stated that giving birth during the COVID-19 pandemic did not affect their thoughts on vaccination. It is known that global events affecting the whole world affect people in many ways. Still, it cannot be predicted how giving birth during the COVID-19 pandemic will affect mothers' knowledge about childhood vaccines. For these reasons, large-sample studies should be conducted to determine how giving birth during the COVID-19 pandemic affect the awareness about childhood vaccinations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
- Abstract: Bu araştırmada COVID-19 pandemisinde doğum yapan annelerin çocukluk dönemi aşıları hakkındaki farkındalıklarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.
