    • Abstract:
SailGP, a professional racing organization, is gaining momentum in the U.S. and CEO Russell Coutts believes it has the potential to become the next Formula One. SailGP offers fast, hydrofoiling boats and is often compared to a Formula One-style championship on water. Despite skepticism about the speed difference between SailGP catamarans and F1 cars, Coutts believes that as long as the race is exciting, fans will watch. Coutts also acknowledges the need to address sailing's reputation as an elite, white sport and is actively working to build diversity by engaging with new territories and connecting with people from different backgrounds.
