- Abstract: The article argues for social workers to have an understanding of Native American cosmological ideas or fundamental worldviews, also known as creation myths, cosmologies, origin tales, emergence stories or cosmovisions. It discusses the creation myths of the Nuu-chah-nulth that affirm that social workers could help clients and communities reflect the eternal or timeless as symbols. It points out the role of social workers in eradicating suffering and preserving the value of life and well-being.
