    • Abstract:
The article reports on the growing political, economic crisis, and social unrest in Peru. The main social conditions of the country are characterized by the critical necessity to decrease the external debt, the almost complete defeat of the guerrilla movements, and the need to carry out the economic adjustment plans. President Fernando Belaú Terry's moderately conservative Popular Action party is also having a hard time to deal with the nation's worsening troubles.
