    • Abstract:
      The article reports on high-speed color printers, which were shown at the trade show Ipex 2006. It reflects on the new versions of machines by Xerox Corp., which include the application areas of Personalization, Print on Demand, Book Printing and Offset/Digital Integration. In addition to this, it has showed 40 different applications of digital printing. Xeikon NV has introduced its roll-fed Xeikon 5000 digital press, which has established itself as a high-throughput machine with a printing capacity of 133 A4 pages per minute. It has a capacity to run at volumes from 300,000 to 3 million pages per month. Oki Printing Solutions has demonstrated the ES 3640e Color Printer, which is a cost-effective machine that can produce 36 pages per minute at good quality. Kodak Co. has shown its Nexpress 2500 with an in-line booklet-make. The Nexpress 2500 can print at 83 A4 pages per minute. The in-line booklet- make binds booklets of up to 100 pages and 6mm spine thickness. Another attraction of the show was HP Indigo printing systems, which was sold about 4,000 machines since its introduction in 1993.
