The article presents information on We the People Bookshelf, a set of classic books for young readers from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This year's theme, Becoming American, includes fifteen books that explore the paths people have taken to arrive and thrive in the U.S. The new book list was announced during a naturalization ceremony for eleven new citizens in Washington, D.C. In the audience were school-children from the area, who received copies of some of the books.
