Nancy Pearl, Neal Wyatt, and Cathleen Towey were said to have presented their reading maps during such event to broaden the reading experience for the reader. It is said to provide a travel itinerary for the reader and a guide to new destinations. The reading map is believed to anticipate what is in the book that will entice the reader to travel in any direction.
