The article reports on the study in the U.S. which revealed that whole grain intake reduces the risk of dying from inflammatory diseases. It is stated that whole grains offer protection against inflammatory cardiovascular diseases such as Crohn's disease, emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The study indicated that women who ate four to seven servings of whole grains a week were 31 percent less likely to die from inflammation-related diseases.
