    • Abstract:
The author reflects on how fire chief officers in the U.S. could be more effective leaders through credentials. The author highlights the significance of having dual credential designation, Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO), on planning emergency medical services (EMS) responses. The author also opines that credentialing affirms the chiefs' knowledge, background and education, thus, making their remarks more valuable to other leaders.
