      The article discusses the lack of quantitative studies on effective educational curricula in the U.S and the impact that may have on both teacher and student performance. The author opines that in some instances it is unfair to hold teachers accountable for under-performing schools when the school system uses ineffective curricula materials and methods. The author notes that in many cases, the effectiveness of teaching methods used in U.S. schools are not supported by sound research.
