      The article reports on the enactment of legislation by the New York State that addresses the recycling of obsolete electronics. The legislation makes it illegal for people to dispose of electronic scrap in landfills by January 1, 2015. Manufacturers will be mandated to submit annual reports to the Department of Environmental Conservation reporting the steps they have done to meet their goals. The enactment has led a federal court judge dismiss a lawsuit filed by two groups about the New York City electronics recycling law.
