    • Abstract:
The article reflects on the crisis among several arts theaters in Boston Massachusetts. It refers to the main problem of cultural drought which is the severe deprivation of funds wherein Boston's performing groups are striving despite the lack of public and foundation support. It was in 1978 wherein only close to 350 recipients got some share of the state's art council's 2.5 million U.S. dollar budget, with the highest monetary assistance of about 45,000 dollars given to the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Whereas other theaters in the U.S. such as the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York City, it got support from rich corporations unlike in Boston wherein it has only a few home-town companies such as Gillette Manufacturing Inc., Raytheon Co., and Polaroid Corp.
