    • Abstract:
The article discusses biblical minimalism, a part of the debate on the extent to which historical data are embedded in the Hebrew Bible. Niels Peter Lemche and expatriate-American Thomas Thompson of the University of Copenhagen in Denmark and Philip Davies and Keith Whitelam in England, developed the minimalist school position that the final writing of the text of the Hebrew Bible was in the Hellenistic period, making the Biblical descriptions purely literary.
