    • Abstract:
In this article the author reflects on Africa's industrialisation. It notes that Africa's main priority was surviving and saving the economy through makeshift policies such as structural adjustment programmes and poverty reduction strategies before it shifted to industrialisation. It also discusses the continent's struggle for industrialisation, including the failure of the Import Substitution Industrialisation Strategies (ISIS), and explains why industrialisation is a political project.
