      The article presents a report from a June 17-19, 2016 conference on the history of human migration hosted by the history and comparative modern history master's degree programs at the Universität Freiburg im Breisgau university. Topics of presentations delivered include photographic documentation of early 20th-century Chinese immigrants to the U.S., the resettlement of East Germans during the Weimar era, and the role of Germans in the 19th-century founding of Colonia Tovar, Venezuela.
